Day 8: Jackson poops...and Aiden moves to belly!

Jackson had his first movement today, which is very encouraging.  Granted, it was mecronium, the vitamins, minerals, and fat they are receiving must have pushed it through.  The telling sign on proper intestinal function will be once feedings begin.  As I mentioned yesterday though, we have to get the heart valves closed before any feedings can begin.

Both boys had the lines taken out of their belly button - one was attached to the umbellical artery and umbellical vein.  Since both healed nicely, beginnig with Aiden, they are moving to their stomachs, which I'm sure they are happy about.  Jackson is back to his birth weight today and also back under the bilirubin lights to get rid of jaundice.  Aiden is 2 ounces below birth weight and continues to be under the lights for the same reason.  A few other milestones to note today:  both boys' oxygen levels went down, and they are both on the lowest oxygen and ventillator settings.  Aiden also got his blood pressure cuff today.

Today's pics below -
