Dad got to kanagroo Aiden today! A bunch of pictures are inserted below. Both Aiden and Jackson are up to 19ml in food. Aiden is receiving his through the drip at a calculated rate given over an hour. Jackson is receiving his 19ml by gravity! The tube is positioned at a given height for the food to drip down into the tube. Pretty interesting. Both boys also received physical therapy today as well. The PTs work with the boys to foster normal movement patterns and muscle control, increasing midline orientation, promoting behavioral organization and providing appropriate sensory stimulation. They will each receive PT 3-5 times per week while they are in the NICU.
The boys are also 4 weeks old today. We cannot believe how fast the first month went by, and are certainly hoping the next 2 months go by just as quick.
I will update more tomorrow, just got back from the kangaroo session and wanted to share! - Jeff

happy 1 month birthday, boys!
ReplyDeleteHow great that you got to hold them!!! Love the pics as much as the ones with Christie!!!
ReplyDeleteI put on a little hat on Aiden so that Dad's "facial hair" wouldn't prick his sensitive head. I think Aidens hat looks SO cute!!! Jackson didn't wear a hat when I kangarooed him earlier in the day, but I might just put his on today when I kangaroo him...only because I think it looks adorable! There are some wonderful volunteers that make the hats. God bless them! And a huge shout out to one of the NICU nurses, Mary who makes the great signs for the kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI love the pic where Aiden is looking up at his Daddy and wondering what that fuzzy feeling is on his cheeks! I also notice Dad is shaving! Gave up on not doing it till the boys are home?
ReplyDeleteDad isn't shaving...he just can't grow facial hair! Actually the nurses are making Jeff trim it because they can't stand when fathers grow ZZ Top beards. We all know Jeff's wouldn't grow that long but I still backed the nurses by making Jeff keep it neat and tidy!
